Newly chosen federal NDP leader Avi Lewis will hold his first news conference as leader – this morning in Winnipeg.

At the party’s convention in Winnipeg, Lewis won 56 per cent of the vote on the first ballot.

The NDP are at a historic low in the House of Commons with just six MPs as well as a considerable amount of debt.
