The Saskatoon Police Service says their officers responded to a report of an injured person around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Avenue C South.

The caller told police a female victim had been assaulted with a machete and there was no suspect at the scene.

Officers located a 32-year-old woman who was transported to hospital by paramedics with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
