Darby Mills’ “True Story” is a unique, hybrid touring rockumentary that transforms her 48-year career into a live multimedia concert experience. Rather than a traditional film, the legendary former frontwoman of The Headpins spent 17 months editing documentary footage to perfectly synchronize with a two-act live performance. As Mills and her band play a 21-song setlist featuring her chart-topping hits and classic rock covers from the artists who inspired her, the custom-designed video plays on a big screen behind them. The show offers fans an intimate, high-energy, and unflinchingly honest look at the highs and lows of her life in the male-dominated rock industry.
It will be at the Broadway Theatre on Saturday, April 11th. Darby joined the Cool Afternoon Show to talk about her career. The challenges of the industry and some stories from her long and colourful career. Enjoy:
