Saskatoon was home for today’s Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame induction class of 2026 with former Saskatchewan Roughrider Chris Getzlaf headlining the group. The announcement was held at Great Western Brewing Company for the first time and is part of a year ling celebration for the Hall of Fame’s 60th anniversary. Cameron Baerg (Rowing), Otto Huber (Golf) and Brianne Thesisen-Eaton (Athletics) were also announced in the athlete category with Getzlaf while Dr. Marlys Misfeldt (Sport Medicine & Science) and Ross Wilson (Basketball) were announced in the builders category. The lone team to be inducted are the 2011-to-2014 Saskatoon Valkyries Football Club, who won the first four W-W-C-F-L titles and only lost one game. The 2026 Induction Ceremony is in Regina on September 26th at the Conexus Art Centre.
