The Saskatoon Blades’ Top Defenceman this past season is also the team’s M-V-P.
Brayden Klimpke (pictured) was named the winner of, both, the Tanner Molendyk Award for being the Bridge City Bunch’s best defenceman as well as Most Valuable Player during the annual Season Ticket Holder Barbecue Tuesday night at SaskTel Centre. The 18-year-old Calgary product was one of four Blue and Gold skaters to suit up for all 68 regular-season games, as well as all 11 playoff contests. Klimpke was fifth in team scoring during the regular-season with 47 points, including 43 assists, then chipped in a goal and four assists during the post-season.
Captain and right winger Tyler Parr also was announced twice as an award winner – sharing the Hardest Worker Award with fellow 20-year-old winger Rowan Calvert – and being name the winner of the Bentley Memorial Academic Award. The full list of Blades’ individual player award winners follows…..
