Thanks to a partnership between the Ministry of Social Services, the Ministry of Health, Oxford House Saskatchewan and the City of Prince Albert – 21 new sober living spaces have opened in Prince Albert to help individuals maintain their recovery after addiction treatment programs.
Those spaces are located in four single-detached homes within the city. Created for both women and men who have completed their initial addiction treatment and are continuing their recovery journey, the sober living spaces offer support focused on preventing relapse through counselling and connection to culture and community. From a total investment of over one-point-seven million dollars, the Ministry of Social Services has invested 900-thousand dollars toward the acquisition and renovation of the 21 spaces. The Ministry of Funding is putting forth 239-thousand dollars in annual funding to Oxford House to support sober living services. Oxford House and the City of Prince Albert are investing over 507-thousand dollars and 90-thousand dollars, respectively, to the project.
