Prairieland is gearing up for the Saskatoon Exhibition, which pays a visit to the city from July 30th to August 6th.
If you’re there for the tunes, the lineup was just released, with a little something for everyone’s music taste. Artists gracing the grandstand include Theory of a Deadman, Shawn Desman, Streetheart, Josh Ross, Mico, Jade Eagleson, and Mother Mother.
Peter Jelinski is the Manager of Signature Events at Prairieland. He says, new this year, music fans will be offered the option to watch the show from a private Fan Zone.
“We’re going to have a private entrance for you…We’re going to have private bars, private ticket sales, and VIP washrooms, not just regular old porta-potties.”
For the thrill seeker in the family, the Ex boasts “bigger rides and larger rider capacities” this year, with 41 rides for dare devils of all ages, including the Star Dancer, Polar Express, Cliff Hanger, and Mega Drop.
“Two years ago, we went from an average of the ability to put 24,000 rides per hour in, and we’ve expanded to 36,000. It’s a big win for not only us as a fair, but Saskatoon as a whole.”
If you’re someone who follows their stomach to the Ex, Spud Nuts and Dukhobor Bread will also be making a comeback. And at the end of the night, you may notice a slight difference with the fireworks.
“In the past, it was a show that was preprogramed and we ran is every night. This year, we’re going to be hosting a different show every evening with different music that is going to be played throughout the park.”
Tickets are available online at Saskatoonex.com.
