It was a very busy final weekend of May for Prince Albert Police with officers responding to 227 calls for service, including four stabbings in a 13-hour period.
Prince Albert Police responded to a call around 9:30 Friday evening in the unit block of River Street West.
A man was treated for injuries consistent with an edged weapon. The victim was transported to Victoria Hospital in serious condition. A suspect was arrested early Saturday morning during an unrelated police investigation. A 23-year old man is facing charges of aggravated assault and failing to comply with his probation.
P.A Police were called to the 800 block of River Street around at 1:10am on Saturday. Officers learned that a man with a serious injury left before they arrived. A short time later, officers found a second man nearby who had minor injuries. The initial man was eventually located in the 600 block of 17th Street West around 1:20am. The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries consistent with an edged weapon. During the investigation, officers determined the injured man was wanted in connection with an unrelated aggravated assault. He was arrested following medical treatment.
Around 2:35am on Saturday, a man went to Victoria Hospital with injuries consistent with an edged weapon. Following an investigation, police believed the stabbing had occurred earlier at a licensed establishment in the 3200 block of 2nd Avenue West. Surveillance footage was examined but the incident was not captured on video and no arrests have been made.
Police were called to Victoria Hospital around 10:20am on Saturday following a reported that a man was being treated for injuries consistent with an edged weapon. Officers spoke to the victim, but were unable to get any details about what occurred. The injuries were non-life threatening.
