The suspicious death of an adult male in a rural area on Mistawasis First Nation has prompted Saskatchewan RCMP investigators to advise that there will be an increased police presence near the Mistawasis First Nation and Shellbrook area for an undetermined amount of time.
According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, the report of a deceased male was received Thursday evening at about 6:20 p.m. by the Shellbrook detachment. Officers responded and secured the scene with Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating. They are asking anyone who observed suspicious activity or individuals in Mistawasis First Nation or Shellbrook areas between the evening of Monday, June 1 and the evening of Thursday, June 4 to call 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is also involved with attempting to identify the deceased male. Additional information is not available at this time, but Saskatchewan RCMP will notify the public if an imminent risk to public safety is identified.
