To ensure the safety of all swimmers this summer, the Province is once again providing the public with the Healthy Beaches Program.
The online resource provides swimmers with timely, accurate information about water quality at monitored public beaches across the province, providing advisories when necessary.
The information is gathered by public health officials taking water samples throughout the summer season. Results are made available to the public through the Healthy Beaches Program map, helping residents identify safe locations for swimming and other water activities.
The program also supports response to environmental health concerns, such as elevated bacteria levels and blue-green algae blooms.
However, it’s important to remember that not all public swimming areas in Saskatchewan are monitored. Sampling locations are selected based on factors such as beach popularity, environmental health assessments, historical data and potential public health risks.
