Saskatoon and surrounding areas will experience unsettled weather this weekend. Environment Canada is forecasting thunderstorms throughout the weekend with hail and strong winds. Some areas may see between 13 to 30 millimetres of rainfall once everything settles after Sunday.
Crawford Luke is a meteorologist with Environment Canada and says Friday could see funnel clouds near the Saskatchewan-Alberta border that may move towards the Kindersley region. Saskatoon and Prince Albert will see thunderstorms develop Friday producing smaller-sized hail and gusty winds with Yorton seeing the most severe storms.
Saturday is expected to have more severe thunderstorms with quarter-size hail and 90 km/h winds in Saskatoon and Prince Albert regions, with the most severe storms expected in the Yorkton area. Sunday is expected to be less serious on the thunderstorm front but still looking wet with lots of rainfall.
The good news is beginning Monday, the weather is expected to improve.
