This morning a vehicle is on its side off Circle Drive near Valley Road and shots were fired in connection to a stolen vehicle incident.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m. police responded to report of a stolen vehicle in the area of Wiggins Avenue South and Cascade Street. Police located the vehicle but say it refused to stop.

In a news release police indicate there were several efforts to disable the vehicle and then a final de-escalation where a male was taken into custody. However, during the incident police officers discharged their service weapon and multiple civilian and police vehicles were damaged. The extent of the injuries is unknown, and traffic restrictions are in place in the area.

The Saskatoon Police Service says this stolen vehicle is not connected to the escaped inmate that Warman RCMP are looking for.
