Highway 39 near Weyburn, the scene of a fatal shooting that occurred on September 12, will be closed later Wednesday for a police investigation.
That Friday at 8:00p.m., Tanya Myers was riding in the passenger seat of a Ford Escape on Highway 39 about three kilometres west of Weyburn when two gunshots were heard, one of which ended up taking her life. The driver was not injured, however a second vehicle, following close behind the Ford Escape, was also shot and received a flat tire.
Between 5:00 and 9:00 Wednesday evening, there will be an increased police presence in that area between Range Road 2150 and Range Road 2153. Traffic will be rerouted.
RCMP are also asking the public to stop sharing misinformation about the incident via social media posts.
