At around 12:30 p.m. yesterday, Saskatoon Police responded to an aggravated assault that involved a machete in the 10 block of Matheson Place.

Two people were injured in the incident and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Following the incident, two nearby schools were placed into a precautionary perimeter lockdown.

Police say there was no immediate danger to students or staff.
