A Lloydminster man is facing charges after the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Lloydminster on Tuesday.
Electronic devices were examined at scene and also seized by investigators. As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Matthew Aldon Blyth of Lloydminster was charged with the one count each of Making Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material and Accessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material; two counts of Making Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material Available to Others; and three counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material.
He was released with court-imposed conditions and is back in Lloydminster Provincial Court November 17th.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service and Saskatoon Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
On October 10, 2025, the Criminal Code wording was revised. Making Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material is formerly known as Making Child Pornography; Accessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material is formerly known as Accessing Child Pornography; Making Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material Available to Others is formerly known as Making Child Pornography Available to Others. And finally, Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material was formerly known as Possession of Child Pornography.
