A homicide suspect has had his charges upped to first-degree murder from second-degree murder following additional investigation.
The Saskatchewan RCMP originally charged 68-year-old Kevin Searcy from Snowden in connection to a death this week in the community.
Nipawin RCMP received a request for a wellness check at a home in Snowden at 1:20 p.m. November 5th.
They located a woman who was dead. The death of 69-year-old Diane Searcy of Snowden was considered suspicious. A man was arrested at the scene.
Kevin Searcy was in Melfort Provincial Court Friday charged with second degree murder. RCMP say the two were known to each other and in a relationship.
Kevin is scheduled to appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on June 15th.
