The Saskatchewan RCMP say investigations are ongoing in connection to five homicide victims in three separate files across three different districts within 27 hours this week.
Twenty-five-year-old Madison Paddy-Jimmy from Thunderchild First Nation is in North Battleford Provincial Court Friday charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection to the death of 28-year-old Tonio Cantell from Island Lake First Nation. Over the noon hour Wednesday RCMP responded to the scene of what is deemed a triple homicide with all three men suffering gunshot wounds. RCMP are not providing any further details regarding the death of a 46-year-old man from Turtleford and the other victim whom they are still trying to identify.
Nipawin RCMP have charged 68-year-old Kevin Searcy with second degree murder in connection to the death of 69- year-old Diane Searcy at a home in Snowden. RCMP responded to a wellness check at 1:20 p.m. November 5th. RCMP say the two were known to each other and in a relationship.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, Broadview RCMP received a report of an injured man inside a home in Whitewood in southeast Saskatchewan. The man was transported to hospital where he later died. A male youth has been charged with First Degree Murder.
RCMP say it has deployed investigative experts from Major Crimes, General Investigation Section, Forensic Identification teams, supported by Turtleford, Broadview and Nipawin Detachments and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
