Rose Valley RCMP say there was an explosion at a cabin in the hamlet of Barrier Ford on Sunday afternoon.
Rose Valley RCMP, Bjorkdale Fire Department, Archerwill Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene where they located one adult who was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Given the small community area, RCMP are not providing any other identifying information for the victim. No other victims were located.
RCMP say the cabin was severely damaged as a result of the explosion and there was also damage to a cabin next door. Initial investigation indicates propane may have been a factor in the explosion.
Barrier Ford is located 80 kilometres north of Wadena.
