The Saskatchewan RCMP are sounding alarm bells following 11 fatal vehicle collisions in the first 25 days of November.
A release from the RCMP says this is up from 4 fatal collisions and 8 fatalities during the same time frame in 2024. Seven of these collisions occurred in the last seven days alone.
In total this year to date, RCMP police officers responded to 89 fatal motor-vehicle collisions resulting in the death of 94 people on Saskatchewan roads. This is also an increase over 2024.
Staff-Sergeant Jason Sauve, with the Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services says weather conditions were a factor in two of November’s collisions, the majority of these deaths involved a lack of seatbelts, speed, impairment by drug or alcohol, and distraction.
