The Trans-Canada was closed for much of the morning from Rush Lake, almost to Caronport. There were two motor vehicle accidents. The first involved a semi on fire then a second accident occurred near Morse and both incidents affected the westbound lanes. RCMP say the area has had freezing rain.
Some of the other incidents so far today include Highway 5 north of Kyle there was a semi partially blocking the northbound lane. Highway 21 was partially blocked after an accident 23 kilometres north of Leader.
Travel is not recommended on all highways out of Leader, as well as Moose Jaw. Highway 11 from Lumsden to Aylesbury travel is not recommended.
Saskatchewan RCMP advise the public that ice, snow covered lanes, strong winds, drifting and blowing snow are impacting road conditions and in some area’s visibility in the province.
