Wednesday crews in Outlook had to pause flushing the water treatment system because of the blizzard which hammered Saskatchewan.
In an update posted Wednesday night town officials said flushing things like hydrants will resume Thursday morning keeping in mind town crews will also have to undertake snow management.
They are still on Step 1, Phase 2 of the process and continue to operate under the Do Not Use order.
On Monday morning at 9:30 a.m., a routine maintenance check led to the discovery of a broken lock and an open hatch at the treated water reservoir. A DO NOT USE order was immediately enacted, and a state of emergency was declared in the event someone had put contaminants into the water reservoir. An RCMP investigation is underway.
The town will continue to hand out 4 litre jugs of water at the Jim Kook Recplex starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 7 p.m. Thursday.
