Saskatchewan’s Serious Incident Response Team is investigating following an incident Friday night where a Saskatoon Police Service officer fired a gun, injuring a 25 year old male suspect.
The incident occurred while members of the Tactical Support Unit were executing a warrant in the 1500 block of Rayner Avenue.
The suspect was taken to hospital, where he is believed to be in stable condition.
SPS notified the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team within the criteria set out in The Police Act and their Civilian Executive Director has accepted carriage of the investigation.
Residents can expect increased police presence in the investigation area.
