In a Wednesday afternoon news release, Saskatchewan RCMP indicated there will be no criminal investigation into the death of a young boy on the Ochapowace First Nation last Saturday night.
An investigation has determined the boy’s death is not suspicious and the Saskatchewan Coroners’ Service is still trying to determine the cause of death.
The youth left a residence around 5pm Saturday and was found dead by a passerby several hundred metres away about three hours later.
RCMP say since this is considered a sudden death investigation with no criminal element, further updates are not anticipated.
The Ochapawace First Nation is located in southeast Saskatchewan, not far from Broadview.
