The national average price of gas has fallen for the fifth straight week according to GasBuddy.com,
The surveyor of gas outlets says average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon have fallen 1.2 c/L in the past week, averaging 112.90 c/L as of Sunday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 0.7 c/L in the last week to 122.10 c/L.
Including this most recent drop, prices yesterday were 29.5 c/L lower than the same day one year ag, and the national average has decreased 25.4 c/L from this day one year ago.
Provincially, Saskatchewan saw an unchanged rate of 117.10 c/L. In a news release, Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says “Prices declined in six provinces this week, but increases in Nova Scotia and Ontario helped limit the overall drop. With refineries running at seasonally strong output and gasoline inventories building, downward pressure may begin to fade as winter progresses, with prices likely bottoming out in the weeks ahead before gradually rising again heading into spring.”
