Saskatoon’s first baby of 2026 was born just after 1:00 am on Thursday.

Emelia Rose Ava Iron was welcomed into the world at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital by her mother Emily on Thursday, weighing just three pounds and 14 oz.

The pair are from Canoe Lake First Nation. This is Emily’s first baby, and both of them are doing fine according to the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
