Saskatoon Police are investigating an aggravated assault that happened on Wednesday morning.

Just after 8:00 a.m., on New Years Eve, police say a man entered a suite in an apartment building in the 1900 block of 22nd Street West, and used a machete to assault another man.

The suspect then ran away prior to police arrival.

The 36-year-old victim was transported to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The SPS Serious Assault Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatoon Police.
