Severe respiratory illness outcomes are on the rise according to the most recent provincial report.
Between December 14th and 27th, there were two reported influenza deaths and one Covid-19 death.
Positive flu tests declined from last reporting period but remained elevated at 38.5 per cent. Almost 40 per cent of those cases were reported in people under the age of 20. Meanwhile, RSV test positivity has risen, with most cases in children under 5 years.
The report also details that about 21 per cent of the Saskatchewan population has been vaccinated against influenza and 14 per cent against COVID-19.
In total, since March 2020, the Ministry of Health says 2,102 people have died with Covid-19.
