Businesses and other stakeholders are being asked to share feedback regarding two new rate increases the provincial government plans to introduce.
SaskPower recently filed an application proposing electricity rate increases of 3.9 per cent effective February 1 of both this year and next year.
According to a release from the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, the 2026 increase would take effect before the conclusion of the public rate review process and remain subject to adjustment following that review. However, members of the business community are still being encouraged to review the filing, submit written feedback, and participate in hearings before a review panel.
The Chamber says it would like to see its members’ input to understand how business will be impacted by these increases, perspectives on the application itself, and views on the clarity and effectiveness of the review process.
