Battlefords RCMP have arrested one man and are looking for another following an assault at a residence on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation.
On January 12th at around 1:30 a.m. police received a report of an armed individual at a residence. Upon investigation, it was determined that two men had assaulted an individual. The victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police. One of the suspects then threatened the residence’s occupants with a firearm and discharged inside the home. No one was injured.
Battlefords RCMP was able to locate and arrest one of the suspects nearby with the assistance of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft System and Police Dog Services.
34-year-old Byron Wahobin of Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation is facing several charges related to the incident and appeared in court today (Thursday).
Battlefords RCMP are still looking for 35-year-old Lonnie Moosomin, who is charged with one count of assault.
