Innovation Sask is investing $26,300 in the USask Saskatchewan Innovation Growth and Market Acceleration (SIGMA) program. The purpose of the investment is to help engineering students turn their ideas into start ups and strengthen Saskatchewan’s innovation ecosystem.
The funding will support SIGMA’s venture accelerator and community events through Spring 2026, such as hackathons focused on key industries like mining, energy and agriculture.
Along with funding, Innovation Saskatchewan also provides SIGMA startups and hackathons with access to workstations, a podcast studio, collaboration spaces, and community at it’s Collider co-working hub in Saskatoon.
Saskatchewan’s growing tech sector has meant that programs like SIGMA are key to building a sustainable startup ecosystem and elevating the province as a place to build and grow tech companies.
