The Saskatoon Police Service says their Serious Assault Unit is investigating two separate incidents where suspects forced their way into homes and assaulted those inside.
The first call came in at 8:20 p.m. Monday from the 3100 block of Laurier Drive. A 33-year-old man said he was inside the apartment when three males entered and assaulted him with a machete. He was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday police responded to a home in the 1600 block of 22nd Street West where a man reported that six or seven people went into his suite and again assaulted him with a machete. The 46-year-old victim also was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Serious Assault Unit do not believe the two incidents are connected. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
