Robbery and Assault in Stonebridge
Around 7:45 p.m. Friday the Saskatoon Police Service responded to a robbery and assault call at a business in the 500 block of Wellman Crescent in Stonebridge.
Police say four people entered the business and assaulted two security guards upon fleeing. Officers obtained video evidence from the business and distributed images of the suspects to additional officers patrolling the area.
Three of the four suspects were located and arrested nearby a short time later. Police allege one of the suspects was found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.
Two men, age 29 and 40, and a 20-year-old woman have been charged with robbery. The 40-year-old man was further charged with three firearms-related offences.
Police are continuing to investigate.
Stabbing Saturday evening
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded to a report of a stabbing in an apartment building in the 100 block of Avenue X South on Saturday around 7:15 p.m. The suspect reportedly fled the apartment.
Police located a woman matching the suspect description in the lobby of the apartment building who was arrested.
Officers say the suspect attempted to stab the victim before a struggle ensued and the suspect was disarmed of the knife. The suspect and victim were known to one another.
A 29-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon.
Attempted Armed Robbery involving multiple men
The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating an attempted armed robbery from Sunday night.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. police responded to an attempted robbery report in the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive.
Officers learned that multiple men armed with various weapons attempted to rob the business when a confrontation with an employee ensued; the suspects then fled prior to police arrival without stealing anything. A police service dog was used to search for the suspects; however, they were not located.
Members of the General Investigations Section are continuing to investigate.
Evade Police
The Saskatoon Police Service say two men were arrested after an evade police incident Friday night which started around 10:15 p.m. in the 900 block of 22nd Street West when officers saw a vehicle driving without its lights on.
It wouldn’t pull over when police attempted a traffic stop and sped off. A tire deflation device at Avenue P North and 23rd Street West was successful, but the vehicle still didn’t stop.
A police vehicle was later used to immobilize the suspect vehicle on Circle Drive near Clancy Drive. Officer arrested those inside and say that after searching a passenger found a knife on their person.
The 27-year-old man driving has been charged with evading police and dangerous driving while the 29-year-old male passenger was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
