Following footprints in the snow, the Battleford’s RCMP tracked down suspects believed to be responsible for a break and enter in progress.
This was last Thursday around 1:00 p.m. at a home on Saulteaux First Nation and officers saw a suspect in the distance fleeing on foot up a hill so they followed the tracks in the snow. That suspect was arrested at a nearby home. But then the investigation indicated that a second suspect was still at the house which was the original subject of the break and enter report. Officers say they found a suspect hiding in the fridge. He was also arrested.
Twenty-six-year-old Andy Swiftwolfe from North Battleford is charged with one count each attempting to break and enter with intent, possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime, and possession of break-in instruments. He was also wanted on warrants.
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Luckas Whitford from Saulteaux First Nation is charged with two counts of attempting to break and enter with intent.
