Shooting Victim
The Saskatoon Police Service responded to a call from a home in the 36-hundred block of Centennial Driver on Sunday and found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
The call came in from the Pacific Heights neighbourhood around 3:30 a.m.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatoon Police or Crime Stoppers.
Evade Police
An evade police incident that kicked off around 1:30 a.m. culminated with a vehicle hit a sound wall in the Exhibition neighbourhood on Saturday.
Saskatoon Police say an officer patrolling in the area of Broadway Avenue and Bute Street attempted a traffic stop but upon activating the police cruiser’s emergency equipment, the vehicle in question refused to stop.
In a news release police say in the attempt to evade police, the vehicle eventually hit a sound wall at Kelvin Avenue and Cascade Street.
An 18-year-old Saskatoon man was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and evading police.
Stolen Vehicle and Impaired Driver
The Saskatoon Police Service says shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday officers were dispatched after receiving a report of a black Nissan Rogue being stolen from the 2100 block of 8th Street East.
The stolen vehicle was spotted by the Air Support Unit on Oliver Crescent in Greystone Heights and police say it fled at a high rate of speed. For about 30 minutes ASU tracked the vehicle saying it was driving erratically including striking several parked and unoccupied vehicles before eventually stopping in the 1300 block of 8th Street East at which time the driver got out and fled on foot.
With the assistance of the canine unit, a suspect was taken into custody.
A 40-year-old man is charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Prohibited Operation of a Conveyance, Fail to Stop for Police, Dangerous Driving, Impaired Driving, and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
