The eastbound lanes of Circle Drive North near Millar Avenue were reopened by mid-afternoon Tuesday, about eight hours after a semi-truck and trailer unit hit overhead signage and street light poles, catching on fire.

Eastbound traffic was detoured via Venture Crescent until the roadway could be cleared. The Saskatoon Fire Department responded at 7:04am and the fire was completely extinguished one hour later.

The driver managed to safely exit the vehicle. Saskatoon Police says an initial investigation believes the semi driver experienced a medical event. No charges are anticipated.
