Treaty Six Leaders departed Saskatoon Monday afternoon for London where they will have a private audience with King Charles III on Wednesday.
During the audience, an in-person invitation will be issued to attend the 150th Commemoration of Treaty Six at Fort Carleton from August 20th to the 23rd.
Chief Christine Longjohn of the Sturgeon Lake First Nation will present the King a gift of baby moccasins to reaffirms that Treaties are for future generations.
The delegation meeting King Charles includes Chief Larry Ahenakew of the Ahtakakoop Cree Nation, Chief Darryl Watson of Mistawasis Nehiyawak and Chief Edwin Ananas of the Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.
