Saskatoon Police have laid charges after the report of a man going door-to-door damaging homes before using a fire extinguisher as a smoke bomb and fleeing the scene.
At 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, police received a call from a 23-year-old man in a multi-unit residence in the 1200 block of Temperance Street. Officers learned that another, unknown man had been knocking on the doors of suites, being destructive, and then discharging a fire extinguisher before running away.
Police say the man was found nearby with two women. He was in possession of an expandable baton according to police, and one of the women was in possession of a knife and fentanyl.
The 33-year-old man will now be facing charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Assault and Mischief Over $5000. The 38-year-old woman is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Possession of Fentanyl and Breach of Undertaking.
The second woman was not criminally charged, and the original caller suffered minor injuries.
