Looking for a night out while also supporting a great cause and soaking in some local talent?
The Saskatoon Food Bank is partnering with Art Posse once again to present HeARTworks, a local art auction with all proceeds going towards fighting food insecurity.
Director of Operations and Engagement Deborah Hamp says all funds raised will go towards assisting everyday operations at the food bank, where they see roughly 23,000 per month, and 40 per cent of those are children.
“Food prices are rising. People are getting a big shock at the till in the grocery store. Times are tough, and they’re impacting people from all walks of life. Nights like this help us raise the funds that are necessary to continue meeting the demand in the community.”
Hamp says the night will be full of specially curated appetizers, live entertainment, local fine art, and live entertainment.
“There’s a sax player that will be greeting people as they come up the stairs. We also have mimes. Word is there might be a unicycle that goes along with one of those mimes.”
Local musician Harrison James will also be showing his support for the food bank with a live performance.
