Saskatchewan is once again partnering with country music star Paul Brandt to provide enhanced human trafficking enforcement training to local law enforcement agencies.
The Province has allocated $100,000 to Brandt’s Not in My City Campaign, which was founded in 2017. In 2023, the organization launched the Maddison Sessions, a conference where members of the policing and justice systems can share knowledge and resources to combat human trafficking. Saskatoon hosted this conference last spring.
This year, with the investment, Saskatchewan RCMP, municipal police, marshals, highway transportation officers, and Indigenous police will receive training this fall, which will improve their investigative capacity, interagency coordination, and victim-centered practices. The training will begin this fall.
