Corman Park Police say a vehicle was caught speeding at 204 kilometres per hour in a 90 zone on Highway 16 near Boychuk Drive just after midnight this morning.
Officers pursued the car for seven kilometres before conducting a traffic stop. The novice driver received a $1,515 fine, had their licence suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Police say all occupants were educated about the dangers of excessive speed and the potential consequences of high-speed collisions.
Authorities are reminding drivers to slow down and obey posted limits to keep Saskatchewan roads safe.
