Public assistance has been requested while La Loche RCMP continue to investigate a Saturday morning shooting in La Loche.

According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, the La Loche detachment received a report of a shooting on Janvier Avenue in La Loche at about 9:50 a.m. on July 11.

Responding officers learned that an adult male suspect discharged a firearm on the street, striking an individual who was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled north into a wooded area. He was said to be wearing a Nike Tech brand black hoodie, black pants and a blue medical mask.

Anyone with information or who witnessed suspicious activity in the Janvier Avenue area of La Loche on the morning of July 11 is asked to contact La Loche RCMP at 310-RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
