Two individuals have been arrested as a part of the ongoing investigation into last week’s shooting in Melfort.
On July 8, Melfort RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 1 Avenue South in Melfort.
During the search, officers located and seized a loaded crossbow, ammunition, a firearm, 75 grams of cocaine, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. A male and two females were arrested at the residence.
While Melfort RCMP were at the home, another male arrived in a vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle and observed firearms inside. The male was arrested and officers seized two loaded firearms from inside the vehicle.
23-year-old Gabriela Carballea and 53-year-old Jesus Carballea from Melfort are facing multiple charges.
Both will appear in Melfort Provincial Court on August 31.
The two females who were arrested were later released from police custody without charge.
