It was an eventful weekend for the Saskatoon Police Service.
Over the course of Cruise weekend, police issued 341 Summary Offence Tickets, primarily for speeding, distracted driving and stunting/racing, 149 warnings, 332 Mandatory Alcohol Screening tests, suspended 17 drivers and impounded eight vehicles.
Police highlight a few notable traffic stops from the weekend, including a vehicle travelling 114 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Officers also issued tickets worth over $3000 to a motorcyclist that evaded police and was observed by the SPS Air Support Unit travelling 101 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Police also executed two arrest warrants.
These figures, although high, are down from 2025 numbers. Last year, officers issued 592 Summary Offence Tickets, 140 warnings and 17 driver suspensions.
