Lumsden RCMP responded to a water related emergency around 3:50 p.m. on Friday at Regina Beach.

A child was located in the water and declared deceased by EMS at the scene. The boy was eight-years-old.

The Saskatchewan Coroners Service has taken carriage of the investigation.

This is considered a sudden death investigation. RCMP say as there is no element of criminality, they will not be releasing any further details.
