A man who is charged with first degree murder in the death of his common law wife, 39 year old Tammy Lee Brown, will hear the judge’s decision on June 7th. Closing arguments were heard at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench on Wednesday for the judge-alone trial.
On January 29th of 2019, Saskatoon Police received a report of an injured person at a home on Kootenay Drive but when officers arrived, Tammy Brown was found dead. Blake Jeffrey Schreiner was taken into custody.
He has admitted to stabbing Brown 80 times but has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder.
His lawyer argues that he should be considered not criminally responsible because of mental illness.
