Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took the time to thank members of the Canadian Armed Forces Sunday.
Sunday marks Canadian Armed Forces Day and Trudeau says its a day to thank brave members past and present for their tremendous courage, service and sacrifice. In a media release Trudeau says Canadians owe them and their families a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.
The Prime Minister stated that the Armed Forces members serve our country in many capacities at home and throughout the world, representing our most cherished values of peace freedom and democracy. This year, Trudeau says, the Canadian Armed forces have also responded to the call to help fight COVID-19 and protect lives.
Trudeau also stated that the government is working hard to help achieve long-overdue culture change in the Canadian Armed Forces through measures to eliminate unacceptable conduct, toxic culture, discrimination, violence, and harassment.
