Two men are under arrest and two are being sought on aggravated assault and firearms charges. Carlyle RCMP say, back on July 28, around seven in the evening, they received a complaint of an assault outside of a business on Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation.
A man had been assaulted by a group of individuals. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A little over an hour later, there was a complaint that an individual discharged a firearm at a vehicle on White Bear First Nation. No one was injured but the vehicle was damaged.
Police say the two incidents were connected. The next day, investigators learned that some of the individuals involved were in the woods behind a residence on White Bear First Nation. Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and arrested two people about four hours later.
20 year old Demitrius Standingready of White Bear First Nation was arrested and is charged with aggravated Assault and weapons charges.
27 year old Jordan Desjarlais of Regina was arrested and is charged with aggravated assault.
Both have appeared in court in Weyburn. Standingready’s next court appearance is on August 11. Desjarlais’s next court appearance is on August 9.
Two other men, 19 year old Cyrus Campeau and 22 year old Justin Desjarlais, have been charged with one count each of aggravated assault. Warrants have been issued for their arrests. They may be in the Regina area, but this has not been confirmed.
Police say, if you see either man, do not approach them. If you have information on their whereabouts or about these incidents, call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
