With an economy on the rise, the Land of the Living Skies is in need for skilled workers.

Jeremy Harrison, Ministry of Immigration and Career Training, says that many sectors are seeing shortages.

However, the Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot program has helped close the gaps.

Harrison says the pilot program basically focuses on health, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality and retail.

He noted that construction is one area where has been some real acute challenges.
