SaskPower says there are more than 500 workers onsite at the Great Plains Power Station project near Moose jaw and the project is now more than 60 per cent complete.
Minister responsible Don Morgan says 84 per cent of the workers onsite are from Saskatchewan with 17 per cent from Moose jaw.
Later this year the Crown power company says construction activity will peak with more than 600 workers onsite each day. The project started construction in March 2021. It is on schedule to be complete in 2024.
When complete, Great Plains will generate 360 megawatts of baseload electricity.
