Saskatoon Police are investigating a collision that occurred earlier this morning on Circle Drive and traffic restrictions are in place in the southbound lanes as the Collision Analyst Unit investigates. Traffic is backed up significantly because of the accident and ensuing restrictions.
The police service says patrol officers responded to a single vehicle collision around 4:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes between Clancy Drive and the Valley Road turnoff. A half ton truck was severely damaged, and one person was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
It also serves as a reminder to slow to 60km/h when passing emergency crews with lights activated which is something one driver did not do and ended up facing a hefty fine. On the weekend, Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan clocked a vehicle doing 113 km/h while passing emergency vehicles and it cost the driver $836.
One other road note, the southbound lanes of the Spadina Crescent and 2nd Avenue roundabout will be closed as of 10:30 Monday morning to facilitate taking down the large menorah. This is expected to be a half day project.
